Canmore, Alberta
... a preferred place to Live, Work and Play

Amenity Migrants choose this place, or one very much like it, as a preferred place to live, work and recreate. Canmore Real Estate is a hot commodity. Among the many, I have chosen four hefty attributes and values that will become of particular interest to you as you explore Canmore and the Bow Valley.

A True Story – Mary and John decided after the 1988 Winter Olympics when they first visited Canmore, that they would retire here “someday”. Now their kids are gone and these empty-nesters will look for a revenue property that also provides unlimited personal use. Soon they will move kit-and-kaboodle to Canmore for its quiet yet rich lifestyle.

First attribute is our Proximity to Calgary,
its services and International Airport

If you have the time but live afar, why not take advantage of same day air service from many locations around the globe. Our convenient access allows you use and enjoy your Canmore Real Estate more than some other fabulous mountain communities.

A True Story – Lucy is an employee of the Canadian Coast Guard patrolling one of Canada’s Great Lakes (Erie I think). She works three weeks on her ship and lives three weeks in her home in guess where ~ Canmore. WestJet flies her back and forth and she wouldn’t trade her lifestyle for anything.

Second attribute is our doorstep to the largest contiguous park reserve system in North America.

This World Heritage Site comprises 2,306,884ha and is adjacent to Canmore, plus the 3000 sq.km. of Provincial Wildland Parks and Recreation Lands called Kananaskis Country. Canmore Real Estate possesses both intrinsic and real value.

A True Story – I cut my teeth on these Parks, first as a Camp Counsellor living in a tepee summers, then later as a Professional Ski Patroller and Park Ranger in the fledgling Provincial Wildland Parks system. I like it here, and so do many others.

Third attribute is the bounty of Arts and Outdoor Recreation.

Trails meander throughout Town along the creeks and riverside. They are tame and enjoyed by young and old alike; walkers, wheelchair-bound, and cyclists.

For the more adventurous, 180 km. of mountain trails await your bike pumping legs in summer or skate ski legs in winter at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Are you one that would enjoy small venue coffee houses offering folk music, a Sunday afternoon community play; or big ticket drama and concerts at the Banff Centre for the Arts just 20 minutes up the road? Then you will not be disappointed with our small town atmosphere and a plentiful gourd of activities to choose from, day after day after day. Owning Banff or Canmore Real Estate ensures easy access to these venues and more.

A True Story – Wednesday evenings after Community Big Band practise (Jazz Band), we all meet at the Legion for fellowship and reasonably priced beer. Of course most order the Grizzly Paw Brewing Co.’s “Rutting Elk Red” or in season “Pumpkin Beer” or “Cranberry Beer”. I’m the band’s groupie and join them often for a pint.

Final attribute is the soul of our community ~ The soul of communities everywhere is its people.

Locals and visitors alike become ambassadors for the values that our Town feels are important. Once you settle here or are more able to visit here through your involvement in the Canmore Real Estate market, I am certain you will be inspired to invest a bit of time to establish relationships and new friendships here. That’s what it’s all about right?”

A True Story – recently a Public Hearing was held to determine the facilities that would be incorporated into a new Multi-plex community building. Planned was a new Library as we have over 6000 Library members, the replacement of the Canmore Community Day Care that is currently housed in an old barn and a new aquatics leisure centre. These great new facilities however were overshadowed by the community’s desire to include an indoor climbing wall that could potentially be used for international competition. The Town Fathers and Mothers actually listened to the people and the new Multi-plex will have a climbing feature, fitting for a mountain community.
